Whenever I visit a new blog, I like to get to know the author and read about his/her values, beliefs, bio…all of that good stuff. I’m nosy and I want to know WHO they are and WHAT they stand for. But really, this is how I find a way to relate to people, connect with them, and feel comfortable before engaging with them so reading about their interests, passions, beliefs, [etc] helps me with that. I know some of you are like me too so along with my About Me page, I wrote out my top 5 beliefs below.
I believe in loving God and loving others. I believe that we are called to love: to love God, first and foremost, and to love others as much as we love ourselves (Mark 12:30-31). I believe that we love because He first loved us (1 John 4:19). I believe that God loves us so much that and He sent his only begotten son for us ( John 3:16).
I believe the Bible is God-breath. I believe that the entire bible, every chapter, verse, word, is inspired by God and is given to us as an authoritative guide for how we can have life, and more abundantly (John 10:10).
I believe in the Holy Trinity. I believe in God the father, God the son, and God the holy spirit (1 John 5:7). I believe that God created the heavens and the earth and knows the name of every star in the sky (Psalms 147:4; Isaiah 40:26). I believe that God sent Jesus, born to the Virgin Mary, perfect human being who died for us so that we may have in eternal life (John 3:16). I believe that the holy spirit dwells in us, showing us, guiding us, advocating for us (John 16:7; 1 Corinthians 6:19) and calling us out when we’re wrong (John 16:8).
I believe that God has a plan for us. I believe that God can make a way out of no-way and He can make the impossible possible (Luke 18:27). I believe that He has plans for us (Jeremiah 29:11) and has called us to conquer and not fear (2 Timothy 1:7) and that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13). I believe that we are here to use the spiritual gifts that He has given us to spread the Word (1 Corinthians 12:1-7).
I believe in Christ’s Return. I believe that Christ will return one day and those that believe will spend eternity with him in heaven (Book of Revelation. ALL of it). I look forward to this day.
That’s all folks. I hope this gives you a feel for who I am and what I’m about. I look forward to seeing you around in the comments!
Oh and P.S. These beliefs are in no particular order. I believe in them all equally.
